Vela Names New President

Vela Insurance Services, a Berkley Company, is pleased to make the following personnel announcement, effective immediately:

Arthur G. (Art) Davis, CPCU, AU, is appointed President of Vela Insurance Services, a Berkley Company.

In this position based in the Chicago Home Office and reporting to Rob Stone, Executive Vice President of W. R. Berkley Corporation, Art has executive responsibility for all of Vela's people, products, and results.

Art joined Vela in 2018 as Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer. He has 30 years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry and most recently served as the President of a major E&S insurer. He is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech).

Art succeeds David A. Jordan, President & CEO, who has moved to another senior leadership position at a Berkley portfolio company. We thank David for his dedicated service to Vela over the past 10 years.
